Multiple Website Setup Considerations

It is possible to set up My Buying Buddy widgets on multiple websites based on your single account.

NOTE: Licensing and Fees for the My Buying Buddy service, and also potential MLS IDX Terms and Conditions, are all pertinent only when property data is actually displayed on additional sites.

Therefore, for planning purposes, you must first decide which of the following scenarios might apply:

  1. Using widgets that simply link consumers back to your main website. I.e. when the consumer interacts with these widgets, they are then directed back to your main website for the display of property details, search results, or to complete registration or login etc.
  2. Using widgets that display property data actually on additional websites.

For example, if you have a "main" website, AND also have a franchise web page for your Agent profile, and you want to put a LOGIN, or QUICKSEARCH widget on this other profile webpage such that when consumers interact with the widget, they go to your "main" website, then there are no additional licensing requirements (or fees). And because this agent profile page does not display any property data, then there will be no IDX implications either.

Do You need More Widgets?

Any widget that has been created and configured for your account can be placed on any webpage you choose.

In your account, it is possible to create multiple versions of each type of widget. For example, you may create multiple versions of the SEARCH widget, or the FEATURED GALLERY widget.

You will need to have additional widgets created for the following reasons

  1. The target URLs for special links such as 'Search' page or 'Search Results' pages are different. For example, you want all the consumer search and search results to be shown in your additional website, not back on your main site.

  2. The color schemes of the widgets are different.

Adding non-Property Widgets to your Additional Sites

You may add new widgets, or re-use any existing widgets on other sites or web pages (don't forget to add the required Library <SCRIPT> at the head of every page).

Displaying Property Data on Additional Sites

NOTE: Make sure that your MLS permits you to display IDX data on additional websites AND make sure this is disclosed to your MLS with the appropriate IDX agreements.
You will als need additonal licensing agreements - see our Pricing page for details of Multi-Site Options.

When displaying IDX property data on additional sites, you will need to create new widgets which are configured with different base URLs.

Limitations of Additional Sites

Whilst widgets can be configured to work in many different ways, your LAC account can only have one set of "account details". Therefore, any time information is displayed about you or your business, this will show the information that is set up in your LAC account.

This common information is used in emails, signature blocks, Just Listed Email Alerts, BIO and Profile Information.

Also, when consumers set up their own Buying Buddy Accounts, any information presented to them that relates to website addresses etc, will always refer to common information in your Account Profile (in the LAC).

This also applies to links that exist in JUST LISTED EMAIL ALERTS which will always only link back to your main site when presenting property details and any other links that are clicked on.
